Arctic hare



Arctic hares are popularly known as polar rabbits. It has short and can stand up taller. It has thick white fur that change color with season, their color changes blue-gray in spring season. And in winter it has white fur with long hair. Their fur change in grayish brown in summer season. They used small ear to keep warm in cold winters. Their weight of feet is heavy as compare to other rabbit. Their legs are like having snowshoes. Snowshoes makes them to stay on top of the snow. Due to the thick fur coat they consume heat from the body. They dig holes under the snow to keep warm and to sleep. We can find them in a large group up to thousands of individuals. If they are threatened by enemies, then they scatter and run in all the direction. Arctic hares are fast and can bound at speeds of up to 60 kilo meters as hour. Their enemies include Arctic wolf, Arctic Fox, and Ermine. Females gives birth four to eight leverents (baby). They are darken than their parents and the fur is blackish. They are about 17 to 28 inches long and 7 kilos weight.

Arctic Foxes

 On the Northern Hemisphere these Arctic foxes are found. They are also known as Polar foxes.They are smaller with round ears and large eyes. They have warmest fur just live polar bear and Arctic wolf. These foxes are not endangered worldwide. According to the WWW, there are thousand of Arctic foxes left in the world.
Arctic foxes are on white or gray-blue in color due to the cold environment. Their long fur that changes color with the season for comouflage. On the winter the long hair are in white color and in summer they change into brownish grey. These Arctic foxes have sharp teeth with sharp and curve claws. They have short legs with a log bushy tail. Females foxes give birth to around six to nineteen pups. The new born are helpless and blind. The Young foxes leave the den after the 14 to 15 weeks their born.
Their size is only 10 to 12 inches in height and a 2 to 5 kilos weight. The feed the birds, eggs, small mammals and fish. They are mainly found in North America, Iceland, Greenland, Scandinavia and Siberia. They usually lives up to 15 years age.

Spring Hares



We can find the spring hares across the South eastern Africa. They are not a actually hare but they look like a kangaroo because they have long hind legs and shorter front legs with long tail. they have a head like rabbit. They can jump up to 2 meters in a single jump. These animals are very clever, with a keen sense of sight, smell and hearing. they can easily hear the coming sound from earth. Spring hares are silent animals but in danger they make the noise. They live inside the tunnels and burrow. Young Spring hares get the care of their mother until they are seven weeks old, after which they leave to make their own burrows. The name leveret is called to the young\baby of a Spring hare. The female are called 'doe' and male are called 'jack'. The group of Spring hare is called the 'band' or 'down'. Spring hares has only 14 to 18 inches height and 3 kilos weight. On the upper body reddish brown to pale grey color are found, The lower body color has orange to white as given in the picture. They have large eyes and ears While searching the food and water they travel 5 to 12 miles in night
