Arctic hare



Arctic hares are popularly known as polar rabbits. It has short and can stand up taller. It has thick white fur that change color with season, their color changes blue-gray in spring season. And in winter it has white fur with long hair. Their fur change in grayish brown in summer season. They used small ear to keep warm in cold winters. Their weight of feet is heavy as compare to other rabbit. Their legs are like having snowshoes. Snowshoes makes them to stay on top of the snow. Due to the thick fur coat they consume heat from the body. They dig holes under the snow to keep warm and to sleep. We can find them in a large group up to thousands of individuals. If they are threatened by enemies, then they scatter and run in all the direction. Arctic hares are fast and can bound at speeds of up to 60 kilo meters as hour. Their enemies include Arctic wolf, Arctic Fox, and Ermine. Females gives birth four to eight leverents (baby). They are darken than their parents and the fur is blackish. They are about 17 to 28 inches long and 7 kilos weight.
